Post exercise cool down is especially important as it allows your body to slowly go down to its resting rate.
After a few rounds around the neighborhood, I slowed down the pace of my jog, until it was a brisk walk. I continued that for about 5 minutes. I was feeling tired, but I felt a sense of joy and accomplishment. Looking at the running application, I actually clocked in slightly more than what was intended.
Under a surge of happy endorphins, I walked home with a skip in my step.
Why did I hold off for so long?
