A padded envelope sat in my mailbox, with my name as the receiver.

It was embellished with a wax seal, its contents seemed to be quite thick. I carefully opened the envelope. There was a series of neatly folded letters, each with a number on it. Accompanying the letters was a bright yellow-coloured card with instructions to read the letters in sequence. I went ahead and opened the first letter marked with a ‘1’.

To be taken aback would be an understatement.
